Unfortunately, Avid stopped manufacturing the Mbox 2 series in 2010 and ended support for most of the series in September of 2015. While Avid is no longer releasing drivers that will allow the Mbox 2 series of devices to work with Pro Tools 12.0 and above, drivers that are compatible with Pro Tools 9, 10, & 11 can be found here. If you experiencing problems when using an Mbox 2 with Pro Tools 12.0 or higher, you will need to uninstall Pro Tools 12 and reinstall a compatible version. Click here for uninstall instructions.

Manually uninstalling Mbox 2 drivers on Mac:
  1. Oct 21, 2015  First I installed the 10.3.9 MBOX 2 driver but the device was not recognized. I had to manually delete the 10.3.9 drivers using the terminal and then install 10.3.3 MBOX 2 driver. From there the MBOX lit up and is once again recognized by the system and is visible in the DigiDesign System Preference and Garage Band.
